Our story began as two good friends of ours, Rob and Jordan, were out to lunch one day. Jordan was talking about how Patrick was moving up to Boston from Florida and Rob was speaking highly about Kevin. The two realized that Patrick and Kevin needed to meet. Rob organizes a bowling group that was having an event the weekend Patrick was arriving in Boston to start his new job. Patrick and Kevin were introduced via online and were told they would be meeting at the bowling event.
Both Patrick and Kevin were anxious about meeting each other. Jordan had told Patrick so much about Kevin, and Rob had told Kevin so much about “Perfect Patrick”. We met at the bowling event, and had a great time chatting with each other. Kevin tried to get Patrick to have a drink after bowling to hang out some more. Sadly, Patrick turned down Kevin’s offer because his first day of work was the next day. Kevin insisted that the two exchange phone numbers.
A first date was setup shortly after the bowling event at Gaslight restaurant in Boston's South End. A romantic dinner was shared; cocktails and conversation continued after dinner at Rocca. The dating continued as Patrick and Kevin learned more about each other.
During the first summer together, Patrick and Kevin shared a special trip to Ogunquit, ME where they shared “I love you” for the first time. As Patrick and Kevin grew closer, they decided to make their first jump together. Patrick found himself moving in with Kevin at Northeastern in January 2010. This proved only to bring Patrick and Kevin closer.
The summer was back again and it was time to celebrate Kevin’s birthday. Patrick planned a surprise weekend trip to Ogunquit, ME to celebrate Kevin’s birthday. Little did Patrick know that the surprise was going to be on him! Patrick and Kevin traveled to Ogunquit, and shared a fabulous dinner. After dinner Patrick and Kevin went back to the hotel room to grab a jacket, to take a walk down to the beach. The two walked down to the beach, and sat on the bench where a year ago they first shared “I love you” with each other. Kevin turned to Patrick, told him how much he loved him and got down one knee to ask him THE question, "Will you marry me?"
Kevin pulled a beautiful ring out of his pocket and slipped it on Patrick's finger. Patrick burst into tears of excitement and said, “YES!” The two kissed and hugged in their excitement. Family members were called to share the great news and champagne was uncorked for a toast at The Front Porch. |
