As many of you already know, Nate and I went to the same High School. Aside from occasional crossing of paths through the hallways, we never really talked or hung out. He always said he thought I held my head too high to want to talk to anyone, so he never even approached me. One summer I ended up partying on his boat and we danced for a little bit, but after that we didn't reconnect until I was a mother and he was single. He asked me out to dinner, and we started chatting. At first I thought he was quite arrogant and cocky. We both admitted that our first impressions were completely wrong! He realized how much of a sweetheart I was and I realized how much he made the room light up when he was there. I soon saw how much we enjoyed spending time together and laughing more than I had in a long time.
I will never forget the first time meeting his family and I'm sure no one else will either! Boy, Geoff sure knows how to pour rum and cokes! Story after story that night, Nate became a little unsure of me and we all found it quite hilarious. I think he was more embarrassed by the stories than I was. The next morning we laughed about it all and had found a whole new comfort level. Once we started dating we realized that we complimented one another quite well, and even finished eachothers sentences from time to time (so cliche).
Over the many camping trips, we've bonded with eachothers families and each person holds a special place in our hearts. From the late night Indian dubbed names, boating trips or just sitting around the camp fire chatting, it's a been a blast and wouldn't change any of it!
Now as time has passed and our love for one another has continued to grow, we can say without a doubt, that we are eachother's best friend. So, now we will be making the next step and so happy that you all can share in the moment. We can't imagine life without eachother.
